Faded gentleman conman, Archie Mason seizes his last chance at the big-time when a young, dysfunctional, autistic black kid, Spiky, arrives in his prison cell. Spiky, a wannabe rapper and street vagrant has an extraordinary skill - phenomenal hand eye co-ordination. Archie spots Spiky's talent when watching him kill flies on the cell wall with a homemade dart! Archie sees the future!! Spiky could be a darts champion… Problem! Spiky is dyslexic - he can’t count - numbers addle Spiky’s brain. This lack of maths skill stymies Archie’s vision of glory. On release and bankrolled by fellow cons, Archie infiltrates the world of darts, hoping to clean up with his young prodigy. Everything is set, but the kid still can’t count, until his mate Scientist's mum, Miss Elsa, produces her abacus. Bingo! Spiky sees the beads as shapes and patterns, his autism has found a way to count. Armed with a small hand-held abacus and the stake raised from fellow cons, Spiky and Archie hit the road, seeking and finding the action on the underground, gang-run darts circuit, ducking and diving their way to redemption...
